The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has donated a range of essential medical supplies and equipment to Herat Regional Hospital in western Afghanistan.
The donation includes intravenous (IV) fluids, oral and injectable medicines, as well as wound care and dressing materials. According to ICRC officials in Herat, the assistance was provided to strengthen the hospital’s preparedness and capacity to respond effectively to emergency situations.
Herat Regional Hospital is the largest and most important public healthcare facility in western Afghanistan, serving thousands of patients each day from Herat and neighboring provinces.
Despite its vital role in providing medical services, the hospital continues to face shortages of essential supplies and equipment, which remain among the key challenges for its administration.
