Farah, Afghanistan — Medical equipment worth AFN 37 million (approximately USD 530,000) has been provided to health facilities in Afghanistan’s western Farah province with financial support from UNICEF, local health officials said.
Mohammad Wali Ahmadzai, Director of the Farah Public Health Department, said the assistance was delivered through the Relief Organization with funding from UNICEF. The shipment includes 116 types of medical and non-medical equipment intended to strengthen healthcare services across the province.
According to Ahmadzai, the equipment has been distributed to 65 health facilities in Farah, where it is expected to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for local communities.
Health officials said the equipment was procured based on the specific needs of each health facility to help address shortages and improve service delivery. However, they emphasized that Farah’s healthcare sector continues to face significant challenges and requires additional support to meet the growing demand for medical services.
