ASHGABAT – A delegation from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), accompanied by officials from the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment and a group of Afghan traders and industrialists, has traveled to Ashgabat for talks to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with Turkmenistan.

During the visit, the delegation met with Fazl Mohammad Saber, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, and Haroon Saeedi, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s commercial attaché in the country, according to the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

Representatives of Afghanistan’s private sector discussed the main challenges facing traders and investors, including the need for improved trade facilitation and stronger institutional support. Afghan diplomatic officials reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade and working to provide greater facilities for Afghan businesses operating through Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan remains one of Afghanistan’s key regional trading partners due to the two countries’ shared border. It also serves as an important transit route for Afghan imports and exports, making closer economic cooperation increasingly significant for the country’s international trade.

The visit comes as Afghanistan’s private sector continues to seek stronger regional partnerships and improved trade connectivity with neighboring countries.
