Afghanistan’s Abu Muslim FC Eliminated After 2-0 Defeat to Bhutan’s Paro FC

Afghanistan’s Abu Muslim FC suffered a 2-0 defeat to Bhutanese side Paro FC on Tuesday, August 11, in the preliminary round of the 2026–27 AFC Challenge League.

The match was played at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, where Paro FC secured victory with two goals to end Abu Muslim’s campaign in the competition.

The Afghan side had been hoping to overcome the Bhutanese champions and advance to the next stage of the AFC Challenge League. However, the 2-0 defeat ended Abu Muslim FC’s hopes of progressing further in the continental competition.

With the victory, Paro FC advanced to the next stage of the AFC Challenge League, while Abu Muslim FC exited the tournament at the preliminary stage.
