Afghanistan’s national football team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Pakistan in their third match of the Maldives Four-Nation Tournament on Sunday.
Pakistan scored twice during the encounter to secure all three points and hand Afghanistan its first loss of the competition.
The result marked the end of Afghanistan’s unbeaten run after the team opened its campaign with a 1-0 victory over hosts Maldives and followed it with a goalless draw against Bangladesh.
Despite the setback, Afghanistan has delivered competitive performances throughout the tournament, which also features Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Maldives.
