Officials from the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that Afghanistan exported dried fruits worth approximately $57.703 million from Herat to international markets during the first seven months of the current solar year.
Mohammad Yousuf Amin, Executive Director of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, told Khate-Nakhost that around 19,000 metric tons of dried fruits were exported during this period.
According to him, the exported products include almonds, pistachios, dried figs, dried apricots, prunes, dried plums, jujube, various types of raisins, pistachio kernels, mixed nuts, peanuts, and roasted chickpeas.
Officials added that Afghan dried fruits are exported to more than 20 countries, including destinations across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
They noted that export figures for the first seven months of the current year indicate a nearly threefold increase compared to the same period last year.
