Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Works says the country’s railway network recorded 797,482 metric tons of rail freight movements during Jawza 1405 (approximately May 22–June 21, 2026).

According to the ministry, 538,889 metric tons were handled through the Hairatan rail crossing, 75,722 metric tons through Aqina, 77,008 metric tons through Torghundi, and 105,863 metric tons along the Khaf–Herat railway corridor, bringing the total volume of rail freight movements during the month to 797,482 metric tons.

The ministry said the freight consisted of petroleum products, non-petroleum commodities, and other goods transported through Afghanistan’s railway network.

The report added that exports accounted for a portion of the overall freight movements. During the same period, 2,517 metric tons of commercial goods were exported by rail.

The figures were released by the Ministry of Public Works as part of its monthly report on railway operations for Jawza 1405.
