HERAT, Afghanistan — Ehsan Ahmad Karokhi, head of the Herat Wushu Federation, has been appointed as an Event Promotion Ambassador by the International Kung Fu Union Federation, according to an appointment certificate issued by the organization.
Karokhi told Khate-nakhost that he traveled to China in 2023, where he completed a series of specialized assessments and obtained credentials related to Shaolin Quan, traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, and Shaolin Wushu.
According to the certificate issued on May 7, 2026, Karokhi will be responsible for promoting the inaugural International Traditional Wushu Video Competition 2026 across Afghanistan and neighboring areas. His duties include identifying and recommending distinguished martial arts masters and practitioners, coordinating with local sports and cultural authorities, and supporting international wushu cooperation.
Karokhi said the appointment reflects growing international recognition of Afghan martial arts practitioners and could help strengthen links between Afghanistan’s wushu community and international organizations.
He further stated that he has been selected as the representative of Afghanistan and the surrounding region within the International Kung Fu Union Federation. According to Karokhi, the appointment expands Afghanistan’s presence in the international Shaolin and traditional Wushu community and creates new opportunities for cooperation and participation in global martial arts events.
Karokhi also said he has received additional international qualifications, including the title of International Master.
