On Thursday (July 10), Azizi wrote on his X account: “The forced deportation of our fellow citizens from Iran, and the dire humanitarian situation that has resulted, has deeply saddened and affected me. While calling on national and international institutions to address this human tragedy, I have allocated urgent assistance worth one billion Afghanis through the Azizi Foundation.”
The Azizi Charity Foundation launched its humanitarian relief operation on July 12 at the Islam Qala border crossing in Herat.
Mohammad Khan Danishjo, Executive Director of the Foundation, told Khate-Nokhost: “Today, we have prepared 20 passenger buses (type 508) to transfer around 1,000 people to Kabul. The relocation process is ongoing and, on a daily basis, migrants are being transported to Kabul and other provinces.”
Mr. Danishjo, who visited Islam Qala to oversee the relief efforts, added that food supplies for 5,000 people had also been prepared for distribution on the same day.
Officials of the Azizi Charity Foundation stressed that their assistance will continue until the repatriation process is fully completed.
