The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) distributed 3,700 hygiene kits to inmates at Herat Central Prison, western Afghanistan.
ICRC officials in Herat told Khate-nakhost News Agency that the kits contained personal hygiene items, including soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, laundry detergent, and other essential supplies.
The distribution was carried out over three days, from June 2 to June 4.
According to the ICRC, the assistance aims to improve hygiene and help ensure dignified living conditions for people deprived of their liberty.
Herat Central Prison currently holds more than 3,000 inmates, including both men and women.
