HERAT, Afghanistan — Afghanistan exported goods worth $45.105 million through Herat province during the first three months of the current solar year (approximately late March to late June 2026), according to the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
Mohammad Yousuf Amin, Executive Director of the chamber, told Khate-Nakhost that the exports included fresh fruits, dried fruits, livestock products, medicinal plants, minerals, carpets, handicrafts, and legumes sourced from different parts of Afghanistan.
He said the shipments were exported to international markets worldwide, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several countries in Europe and Asia.
According to figures released by the chamber, the value of exports through Herat during the first quarter of the current solar year increased by $11.619 million compared with the same period last year.
Amin attributed the growth to improved coordination among relevant institutions and expanded trade facilitation measures. He said these efforts have further strengthened Herat’s position as one of Afghanistan’s main export hubs, with the Islam Qala and Torghundi border crossings serving as key gateways for the country’s international trade.
