The Foreign Ministry’s representation in Herat Province announced that Afghan and Turkmen officials held a technical meeting to expand transportation and transit cooperation between the two countries.
Officials from Afghanistan’s transport and railway sectors, as well as Turkmen officials, attended the meeting. The two sides discussed measures to facilitate and improve bilateral coordination in transportation and transit, streamline trade processes, and address issues related to the Lapis Lazuli Transit Corridor.
They also discussed railway-related matters and the expansion of transportation and transit cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The participants emphasized the importance of closer coordination to facilitate the movement of goods, expand trade, and make more effective use of existing transit capacities.
