Zakia Khudadadi, the prominent Para-Taekwondo athlete originally from western Afghanistan, has clinched the gold medal at the European Para-Taekwondo Championships 2026 for the second time in her career.
Competing in the 47kg weight category under the French flag, Khudadadi seized the top spot on Monday (May 11) after defeating formidable opponents from Italy, Georgia, and Turkey.
The 2026 European Taekwondo and Para-Taekwondo Championships officially launched on Monday and will run until this coming Thursday.
Khudadadi, who now holds French citizenship, previously claimed the European championship title in 2023. She also made history in 2024 by becoming the first Afghan woman ever to win a medal at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
