A group of women artists in Herat recently organized an art exhibition called “Negarina”, specifically designed to engage families and the broader community.

Sabna Noori, the exhibition organizer, told Khate-Nakhost: “The exhibition features over 60 works by female artists in a variety of styles, including modern art, oil painting, calligraphy, and miniature painting.”

Fawzia Saeedi and Hanieh ghoraishi, two of the exhibiting artists, emphasized the importance of institutional support: “For art to flourish, it is essential that the government and organizations active in this field provide support for women artists.”

They also noted the challenges of public engagement: “Exhibitions are a key opportunity for selling artworks, yet people often pay little attention to local creations and tend to purchase foreign artworks instead.”

The “Negarina” exhibition opened on Wednesday, 23 Mizan 1404 (Afghan calendar), and ran for three days at the Foodbox complex, located at Chaharrah-e Mostofiat in Herat, welcoming families to view the artworks and interact with the artists.
